Hello 2018 (my goals for 2018)

goals for 2018 - ByMerylHello 2018, I am glad you’re here because to be quite honest, I didn’t really like your predecessor. I am not a resolutions kind of girl, but I do love me some goals. Who still remembers my monthly goals posts? Needless to say, I could not pass up on this great opportunity to set myself some new goals for 2018.

Spending more time with the people I love

An obvious one, but one that I really need to focus on. Not that I don’t spend time with my family or friends, but I don’t always get to see them as often as I want, especially in busy periods. Although I love to focus on my career, I really want to make my family and friends more a priority. They are what matters most.

More sleep

As I’ve probably mentioned many times before, I am a night owl and love to stay up late and bing watch Friends on Netflix. However I regret my decision to stay up late every single morning when I can’t get out of bed. I want to give my body and skin some more sleep, so an earlier bedtime it is.

Start a new project

This year I am starting a new project, which I will soon tell you more about. It feels so exciting to be working on something new and different. Fingers crossed that it will all work out!

Treat yourself

This year I am going to treat myself to more beauty/me-time moments. I set myself the goal to get a treatment at least every other month. Will it be the best year yet for my hair and eyebrows?

Finding an apartment

I have been living with roommates for the past 5 years but now that I am getting older I feel like it’s time to have my own place. This might seem an easy goal, but with the current housing market in Amsterdam this might be the hardest one out of all of them. Any tips or recommendations are very welcome!

Move that butt

When it comes to exercising 2017 was, well one big fail. Besides a couple panic gym visits in the weeks before my holiday to Mexico and Indonesia, I’ve hardly seen the inside of the gym at all. I know that I will never be a #fitgirl, there are just too many things I prefer to do over working out, but I do hope to workout a bit more. I signed up for OneFit, so it’s looking hopeful.

See more of the world

Last year my boyfriend and I went on a three-week trip to Indonesia, which was amazing. Although I travel quite often, I would love to go on another big trip and discover a new place in the world, maybe Sri Lanka or Thailand?

Spend more wisely

Do you also read those articles that point out how much more expensive it is to always eat out and get food and coffee on the go? Well I do and I always feel guilty reading them because I am all about those coffees and yoghurts to go. But with my house search and my goal to see more of the world, I should start to spend my money more wisely. So less coffee and more getaways it is.

What are your goals for 2018?

Love, Meryl
