5 Christmas movies to watch this December

5 Christmas movies to watch this December - ByMeryl Can you believe its Christmas in less than a week? I can’t quite wrap my head around that fact. I love myself a good Christmas countdown, advent calendars included, and to make yours a bit better I’ve rounded up the 5 best Christmas movies to watch. There is no such thing as too much Christmas spirit right?

A Christmas prince

While scrolling through Netflix a couple weeks ago, I stumbled onto this one. The Christmas Prince is a Netflix original and although the plot didn’t seem too creative, I gave it go… and well I loved it. Yes it was a bit cheesy and predictable, but aren’t all Christmas movies? If you are looking for your classic romantic, girl meets boy (who happens to be a prince) kind of movie? Then this is the one to go for!

Christmas with Holly

Christmas with Holly isn’t your typical Christmas movie. The main character of the movie, Holly, is a 6-year-old girl who is traumatized by her mother’s passing. Although the setting might not be cheerful, the movie does evolve into a great story on the importance of family.

The Holiday

I wouldn’t be a Christmas movie round up without including my all-time favorite movie, The Holiday. The setting, the characters, the storyline it just all works in this movie. Especially the UK countryside scenes just scream Christmas to me. I won’t give you any spoilers because it’s just a must-see. I must have seen it at least 10 times.

Christmas inheritance

Another Netflix original Christmas movie. I liked a Christmas prince that much, that I was very excited when I heard about this one coming out. The plot of Christmas inheritance is again not too creative, a rich city girl is sent to a small town and the rest you can guess from there. I know that there are many similar movies and series out there, but I loved it anyway. I actually preferred it to the Christmas prince. So if you only have time for one, watch this one.

How the Grinch stole Christmas

I obviously had to include a classic. I first saw this movie as a child in the cinema with my mom and have watched it every Christmas since. There is something so adorable about the people in Whoville and the Grinch. This is by far the most family and children appropriated one out of the 5. Also a perfect one for Christmas day to watch with the family.

What is your favorite Christmas movie?

Love, Meryl
