My boyfriend and I moved into our new apartment a couple months ago and it’s been a work in progress getting it decorated just the way we like it. We all love a good sneak peek into someone’s home, right? That’s why I am starting the whole home decor section with a kitchen tour. And maybe also because it’s the only room that feels semi-done, oh well.
I love this kitchen, it’s brand new and has many build-in appliances but it also holds a lot of storage space. The dark-wood color is not something I would usually go for, but since it’s a rental apartment, we had to make it work and to be honest I quite like it now. I really enjoy how perfect the open concept is for hosting dinner parties. Instead of being secluded in the kitchen, I can still talk to my friends and family that are coming over.
Our kitchen counter houses some of our everyday appliance like our adorable kettle and our Dolce Gusto coffeemaker. To give the kitchen a personal touch, I added some useful but also decorative accessories. The Sissy-Boy is one of my favorites stores for home decor so I could not resist picking up this wooden cutting board. The stunning olive oil and vinegar bottles are also from the Sissy-boy. Our marble shopping board (which is ideal when you live gluten-free) is from Bolia. Our golden fruit bowl was an absolute steal at Loods 5 and our storage jars are from the Blokker.
On our latest trip to Italy we picked up a Bialetti coffeemaker as a souvenir and my boyfriend gave me these Broste Copenhagen espresso cups to go with them. We also added some greenery to the kitchen because I have a slight obsession with plants. The hanging plant, which I put in a candleholder I bought at the Dille & Kamille, is my favorite. I really enjoy our decor, it gives the kitchen personality without being too much or inconveniently cluttered.
I hope you enjoyed our kitchen tour! Stay tuned for more house related content.
Love, Meryl
