Lately a new sub ritual has intruded my morning ritual; every morning I check the weather app on my phone (because weather in the Netherlands is as unpredictable as trying to figure out who A is on Pretty little liars) after which I walk to my closet and stand there for a good 10 minutes. Yes you read that right 10 whole minutes, which I could fill with useful things like eating breakfast, but no, I simply stare because recently I keep discovering that I have absolutely #nothingtowear.
I am no stranger to the #nothingtowear problem, because its often a reoccurring problem when I have a special event or party to attend, but it has never been a daily thing. Let’s be honest I obviously have a lot of stuff to wear, and I have my too full closet to prove it, but everything I own is either not in season, not suitable for the weather, worn to many times recently, not my style anymore or not fitting me correctly anymore, or at least that’s what I seem to think every morning. With the result that after staring for 10 minutes I try on about 5 different outfits, which ends with my bed being lost in a sea of clothes. So it’s time to tackle the problem because leaving it unsolved can have disastrous consequences, I mean who doesn’t remember Kim K’s nude Insta picture with the #nothingtowear.
I’ve decided to keep the solution simple and quite pleasant; Look for inspiration on Instagram and Pinterest, clean out my closet and shop for new items and staples I’m currently missing. You see a simple 3 step solution, which will hopefully help me and you, and if you have plenty to wear, but need a reason to go shopping, well here you go :)
