A Capsule Wardrobe, yes or no?

My closet and I have a bit of a love/hate affair going on at the moment. There are some gorgeous pieces in there that I love, but the majority is just a bit mwah. The idea of a capsule wardrobe started to play in my mind but can I do it?

A capsule wardrobe is the concept by which you limit your closet, some people even choose a specific number of items, to key pieces that you love, that are in season and that work well together. At the beginning of each season you evaluate the items you have and make a list of the items you need to add to your closet to make it feel complete again. Your countless shopping trips will be limited and useless fast fashion buys are in the past. I had to admit that the idea sounds great and after seeing countless capsule wardrobe videos by Anna, who always has the perfect thing to wear to every occasion, they idea started to appeal to me even more.

The reason why I haven’t started the whole capsule wardrobe thing a year ago, has to do with the limited amount of shopping. I really enjoy shopping and I also use it as a cheer me up on harder days. Only shopping around four times a year seems a bit impossible. But from the fall onwards I am going to give it a go, although I might change some of the rules a bit. This summer I am planning on making a start, by buying some key pieces that I miss in my current wardrobe.

Do you have a capsule wardrobe? Or are you willing to give it a try?                                                                    Tips are highly welcome!

Love, Meryl
