Contouring is a trend that I was on the fence about, not because I didn’t like the look of it, but mainly because putting anything bronzer like near my pale face was extremely terrifying to me. On one of my make up browsing sessions I spotted the L’Oréal Infallible Sculpt contouring palette and it looked so interesting that I picked it up anyway. So let’s see if this is the right palette for contouring dummies.
I got a set with a brush and the contouring palette in light/medium, which already looked really dark. Once you open the palette your find a booklet with a contour face map, which made the contour dummy in me very happy. They have the perfect contour face map for every face shape but even if your uncertainty about your face shape, they’ve got you covered with a general face map. I basically copied the face map, on the picture above, on my face with the sculpted side of the brush and tried not to be to scared of the bronzer, because the pigmentation is intense. The product, which is cream based went on really smoothly and after about a minute my face looked like this.
Then it was time for the most important step, in contouring, blending. I tried to use the other end of the brush, which is basically your standard foundation brush, but did not find it that ideal for blending. It did get the job done but I think I would prefer using my Beautyblender. Once the product was completely blended I was pleasantly surprised, the result was really natural, the dark bronzer blended perfectly and was nothing more than a perfect faint shadow on my face. I even asked my roommate if she thought I looked too bronzed but she told me this wasn’t the case.
The palette left me with a slightly better face shape, without anyone ever noticing I used any product on it, only on my nose were my skin was really dry due to a cold, could you see a bit of the texture of the highlight. This contour palette makes contouring the easiest thing in the world and is definitely dummy proof.
